I’m sure you would have heard the hype, LEO (Low Earth Orbit) redeployable communications are on their way!

In case you don’t know, a low Earth orbit (LEO) is, as the name suggests, an orbit that is relatively close to Earth’s surface. It is normally at an altitude of less than 1000 km but could be as low as 160 km above Earth – which is low compared to other orbits, but still very far above Earth’s surface.

XM Communications in partnership with NEXION Networks will be the FIRST company to trial this exciting product, increasing networking to remote communities across Western Australia.

We are proud to be partnered with NEXION Networks in the release of this product. Over the next month XM Communications will comprehensively road test the kit for durability, robustness and its re deployable capabilities in the harsh remote environment we all work in.

Once the trial has been successfully tested in a number of remote areas of W.A., we intend to slowly change from the VSAT platform to LEO’s.

Described as a game changer in the remote communications field these units will offer less latency and faster/larger speeds for your teams to work with.
